Millstone Community Education is offering the following classes. Preregistration is required.
Social dance lessons will be offered April 27-May 18, 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the middle school in the cafeteria. The class will cover the waltz, fox trot, tango and jitterbug, and partners are not required. The fee is $35 per person or $60 per couple. In addition, Latin dance lessons will be offered 8:30-9:30 p.m. The fee is $35 per person or $60 per couple, and partners are not required.
“Touch Me Tank Creatures,” an after-school activity, will be presented by the Jenkinson’s Aquarium Outreach program April 28, 3:45-4:30 p.m., at the elementary school in the art room. The fee is $12.
“Edit Your Digital Pictures” will offer advice on how to crop, zoom, fix color and brightness, eliminate red eye and more. Photoshop Elements 2 and 3 will be used. Attendees are welcome to bring pictures on a disk. Phyllis Caputo will conduct the workshop Mondays, May 2-16, 7-8 p.m., at the middle school in Room 151. The fee is $50.
Psychic Marc Sky, who has given personal readings and past-life regressions to Hollywood celebrities, will conduct group readings and answer questions about the future. Each attendee will receive an eight-page numerology chart prepared for them (provide birth date when registering). The session will be held May 3, 6:30-8 p.m., at the middle school library. The fee is $35. And, from 8:15-9:45 p.m., Sky will conduct “Spirit Encounters,” a program in which attendees, “Through a guided out-of-body experience … can visit family, friends, and even pets,” according to the press release. The fee is $35 plus a $10 materials fee.
A program on antiques will be conducted by Suzy Anderson, an appraiser and antiques dealer from Red Bank, Thursdays, May 5-26, 7-9 p.m., at the middle school art room. The hands-on sessions will offer tips on how to determine the authenticity of antique furniture, porcelain, silver and glass. The fee is $48.
A program on astronomy — how to find and follow the motions of the constellations, see the May planets, and visit the moon though an eyepiece — will be conducted by John Miller, who has taught astronomy in public schools and is director of the Amateur Astronomy Association of Princeton. No telescope is necessary, but attendees are welcome to bring theirs. The session will be held Fridays, May 6-20, 7:30-9 p.m., at the middle school in Room 166. The fee is $65.
A business start-up workshop will offer details on the legal forms of ownership, how to register a business, bookkeeping, payroll, insurance, and finances, all in easy-to-understand terms. The one-session class will be held May 7 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the middle school library. The fee is $50.
