New Jersey horse-racing industry experts will explore the synergy between horse racing and Monmouth County in a free, public event later this month.
The next Monmouth County Greentable will take place from 9-10:30 a.m. on March 1 and will focus on why horse racing is critical to Monmouth County. The event will take place at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan, according to a Monmouth County Planning Board press release. Dr. Karyn Malinowski, of the Rutgers Equine Science Center in New Brunswick, will speak about the economics of racing and the potential ramifications of changes in the state’s racing industry on the local agricultural economy. Dennis Drazin, chairman of the New Jersey Racing Commission, will talk about the latest proposals and legislation to keep racing strong in New Jersey.
The event will also feature a question-andanswer session. Continental breakfast will be served. All are welcome to attend, with those interested in participating being asked to RSVP to the Monmouth County Planning Board by Feb. 23 via email to [email protected] or fax to 732-409-7540.
The Monmouth County Greentable is a periodic meeting to bring together individuals, groups and government representatives that are working to preserve open space and farmland. The meetings aim to provide a forum to network and foster communication and partnerships.
