New music minister joins Jackson church

JACKSON — Cornerstone Presbyterian Church has announced the hiring of a new music minister, Christine Tegeder.

According to a press release, Tegeder will help the church expand its lively music program with choirs for adults and children, combining contemporary praise songs and traditional hymns, and incorporating musical instruments into worship.

Tegeder received a Bachelor of Science in music education from Messiah College, a Master of Music in music performance and music history from Bowling Green State University, and is currently a second-year seminarian pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Palmer Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.

Tegeder has held several positions as music director and leader of adult and children’s choirs, as well as assisting in leading contemporary worship music, according to the press release. In addition to singing, she plays the piano, clarinet and guitar.
