• The Plumsted Township Memorial Day Parade will be held on Memorial Day, May 31. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. on North Main Street at Bright Road and continue along Main Street and Jacobstown Road to Meadowbrook Lane. The American Legion headquarters has been designated to be the end point of the march. Bright Road will be closed between noon and 1 p.m. North Main Street, Main Street and Jacobstown Road will be closed between 1 and 2 p.m. for the parade. The American Legion, in conjunction with other organizations, will host the Memorial Day services when the parade concludes. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited and welcome to attend the services. Col. Gina M. Grosso will be the keynote speaker at the American Legion hall following the parade.

• The Friends of Elvis 2010 Convention will return to South Toms River on July 10. “Aloha from South Toms River” will benefit the South Toms River Recreation program and will feature Elvis tributes by local impersonators.
