JACKSON — The salaries of several department heads and other employees in Jackson were recently given a boost by officials, just weeks after the 2015 municipal budget was adopted.
Three resolutions and one ordinance dealing with the raises were unanimously approved without comment by the members of the Township Council during their June 9 meeting.
Business Administrator Helene Schlegel said the increases were meant to establish the employees’ salaries for 2015.
The increases “are a result of the budget being passed,” she said.
According to the ordinance, municipal receptionists can now earn between $12 and $15 an hour for the rest of the year. The assistant personnel technician can make between $40,000 and $75,966, and the personnel officer/purchasing agent can earn between $60,000 and $85,000.
While the ordinance established a salary range for those positions, the resolutions passed by the council set exact amounts for certainemployeesaftera2percentincrease.
According to information provided by the council, municipal clerk Ann Marie Eden and deputy municipal clerk Janice Kisty will be paid $99,199 and $50,362, respectively.
Police Chief Matthew Kunz will remain the highest paid department director, moving from $181,560 to $203,710. The amount includesa2percentincreaseand$18,519inlongevitypay,according to municipal documents.
Township Engineer Daniel Burke will move from $113,615 to $137,887witha2percentincreaseand$22,000in“othercompensation,” according to municipal documents.
Department of Public Works Director Fred Rasiewicz will move from $104,163 to $106,247. Tax Assessor Toni Nagle-Rowe will move from $97,444 to $99,393. Municipal Judge Daniel Sahin will move from $81,686 to $83,320. Schlegel’s salary will remain at $151,189.
The council members also voted on their own salary ranges. According to the resolution, council President Barry Calogero will receive $9,668, and the other four council members will each receive $8,668.
