PLUMSTED — The New Egypt MOMS Club is holding a school supply drive for children in the community who cannot afford to purchase school supplies.
Items needed for the “Pack the Sack” service project include backpacks, pencils, pencil boxes, pens, 24-count crayons, permanent markers, mini staplers, staples, loose-leaf paper, tape, colored pencils, threering binders of all sizes and highlighters. Also needed are self-stick notes, book covers, index cards, pencil sharpeners, glue bottles, glue sticks, spiral notebooks, two-pocket folders, TI-34 II calculators, flash drives, composition notebooks, tissues, smocks, children’s scissors and protractors.
Donated supplies should be new. The project is designed to help children start their school year with optimism, self-esteem and confidence, according to a press release from the MOMS Club.
The donation drop-off locations will be at the Plumsted Library, 119 Evergreen Road; the New Egypt Post Office, 22 N. Main St., the New Egypt Marketplace, 53 Main St.; and Salon Bliss, 413 Route 539.
