The Navy Lakehurst Historical Society will hold its 80th commemorative ceremony for the Navy Airship ZRS-4 USS Akron at 10 a.m. April 4 at the Grand Army Memorial in Pine Lake Park, Manchester. The airship crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off the New Jersey coast on April 4, 1933 as a result of a severe storm about 20 miles off the coast of Barnegat, killing 73 men.
