Two arrested at drug store

JACKSON — Two 23-year-old residents of Jackson have been charged with attempting to use falsified prescriptions to obtain controlled dangerous substances.

“Jackson police Detectives Mitch Cowit and Frank Mendez, in an ongoing investigation into individuals attempting to obtain controlled dangerous substances by fraud, arrested two individuals,” Sgt. Christopher Parise said in a May 4 press release.

Parise said Brian Hruszczak, of Anderson Road, was charged with criminal contempt and obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud.

Police said Hruszczak attempted to obtain a controlled dangerous substance with a falsified prescription at the Rite Aid pharmacy on South Hope Chapel Road.

Hruszczak was processed and released on a summons. A court date is pending.

On the same date at a different time, Shanna Biesterfeld, of West Veterans Highway, was charged with criminal contempt and obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud.

Parise said Biesterfeld attempted to obtain a controlled dangerous substance with a falsified prescription at the same Rite Aid pharmacy where Hruszczak was arrested.

Biesterfeld had outstanding warrants for her arrest in Freehold Township and Jackson and was transported to the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, after being unable to post $35,000 bail.
