Donna Muzzicato of Millstone Township, Monmouth County, owner of ArtAnd.us.com, will be exhibiting fine art at Laurita Winery, 35 Archertown Road, New Egypt, on Nov. 20-21. Original oil paintings, gouache paintings, and giclées on canvas and William Turner paper will be available for purchase.
Muzzicato has 10 years’ experience as a school administrator and more than 15 years’ experience in public and private education as an educator.
Now retired, Muzzicato said she has been “revitalized” as an artist.
During the late 1960s, Muzzicato worked her way through college waiting on tables and selling abstract paintings periodically in Washington Square in New York’s Greenwich Village. In 1968 she designed Monmouth College’s (University) tennis emblem, a hawk holding two tennis rackets.
Muzzicato holds a United States- and foreign-approved concept patent for blind and visually impaired persons, and various jewelry copyrights and designs.
Over the years, she edited and published local quarterly political newsletters, was the founder of Senior Spotlight in the 30th Legislative District, authored newspaper articles, children’s plays, published poetry, and position papers. She earned a doctorate in education, a master’s degree in special education, and a master’s degree in administration.
As a civic leader, Muzzicato was an elected county committee municipal chairwoman, county committee member, appointed Millstone Township Heritage Committee chairwoman, county freeholders administrative assistant, and recipient of the Senate and General Assembly citation in leadership.
Her community volunteer services have included the Monmouth County Women’s Center, International Rhett Syndrome Association, Cancer Association, environmental issues, county and local political organizations.
Muzzicato is in the process of starting an online gallery for new and struggling artists to display and sell their works.
