New Egypt High School business students succeed

PLUMSTED — New Egypt High School students know what it takes when it comes to getting down to business.

Students Mark Pryzbylkowski, Alex Hauge, Stephanie Potter, Michele Dey, Erica Dey, Christina Peacock, Lauren Cowell and Nicole Coyne placed in the top eight slots at the Jan. 6 Future Business Leaders of America Regional Competition held at Mercer County Community College, West Windsor.

According to information provided by the Plumsted School District, Pryzbylkowski received first honors from the FBLA for Principles and Procedures.

Hauge earned second honors in Computer Applications, while Potter earned third honors in Spreadsheet Applications.

Michele Dey earned fifth honors in Spreadsheet Applications and Erica Dey earned sixth honors in Cyber Security.

eacock earned seventh honors in Word Processing I,

while Cowell earned eighth honors in Word Processing II and Coyne earned eighth honors in Introduction to Business Communication.

“This was a great opportunity for our students,” said Ann Marie Bette, club adviser. “Ms. (Lauren) Russ and I are very proud of their accomplishments. We are all looking forward to the state competition in March.”

During the Jan. 6 event the New Egypt High School students competed with more than 1,000 other high school students from the central New Jersey region.

New Egypt High School received the “Chapter Equalization” award at the event.

The student winners will now start preparing for the state level competition to be held on March 12-13 in Edison.

Club advisers Bette and Russ both said they are proud of the accomplishments of the students who participated in the competition. This is the second year the students have placed in a variety of events and the advisers said the FBLA students are looking forward to participating in future competitions.
