Phoenix Productions will be reviving one of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s classics, “Mary Poppins,” at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank for two weekends starting July 10. Katherine LeFevre will star as Mary Poppins, with Bob Brown as Mr. Banks, Patricia Delesky as Mrs. Banks, Taylor Carpinello as Jane, and Jack Sweeney as Michael.
This classic tells the story of the relationship between British banker Mr. Banks, his wife, and their two “impossible” children. When Mr. Banks hires the mysterious and magical Mary Poppins as the children’s new nanny, she immediately endears herself to the kids. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “anything can happen if you let it.”
Performances are scheduled for Friday evenings at 8 p.m., Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m, all at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank from July 10 through July 19.
