Millstone father of preemie praises March of Dimes’ efforts

Recognizing November as Prematurity Awareness Month, the March of Dimes continues to lead the fight against the more than half a million premature births that occur in this country every year, as well as against other serious threats to infant health. Prematurity is the No. 1 killer of newborns. In fact, each year 14,293 babies in New Jersey suffer the consequences of being born too soon.

The March of Dimes funds cutting-edge research and innovative programs that help more babies come into the world healthy.

When my daughter was born last year – more than 10 weeks too soon – it was the March of Dimes’ efforts that gave her a chance to live. Our story has a happy outcome, and we owe that in large part to the mission of the March of Dimes.

Together we can give and share hope for all babies – those born healthy, those born prematurely, those who were lost and those whose lives hang in the balance.
