Mrs. Layton, 97, of Jackson, died Aug. 16, 2011, at Ocean County Medical Center, Brick. Prior to retiring in 1976, she was employed as a food packager for Rokeach Company, Farmingdale, for 25 years. Mrs. Layton was predeceased by a granddaughter. Surviving are a son, Elmer E. Layton Jr., of Lakewood; three daughters, Leona Hartman of Barnegat, Virginia Mae Moore of Charleston, S.C., and MaryLou Mauser of Matawan; and nine grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Clayton & Mc- Girr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment in Adelphia Cemetery, Howell.
