Mrs. Bates-Clayton, 54, of Howell, died Jan. 15, 2011, at home. For many years, she was employed as a supervisor in the Howell post office. Surviving are her husband, Raymond C. Clayton Jr.; a stepdaughter, Christina Bernstel of Point Pleasant; her parents, Bill and Josie Bates of Berkshire Valley; two sisters, Bonnie Mangan and her husband, Allen, of Duncanville, Texas, and Cathy Gibbs and her husband, Gary, of Dundee, N.Y.; and many other family members. Afuneral service was held at the Clayton & Mc- Girr Funeral Home, followed by interment at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall Township.
