Girl Scouts come to the aid of homeless animals

Girl Scout Troop 45, Sassafras Service Unit in Jackson, held a collection for the animals at the Northern Ocean Animal Shelter in Jackson. Troop members collected hundreds of dollars’ worth of new and gently used items.

When the collected goods were presented to the shelter, employees told the troop members it was the largest collection they ever had received and treated them to a tour of the facility. The troop had the opportunity to see all the animals and pet some of them, too. They discussed the proper care of animals and how they are taken care of at the shelter. Shelter employees also conveyed how wonderful it is when one of the animals gets adopted.
