Annual house tour in Ocean Grove on July 17

The Historical Society of Ocean Grove will hold its 41st annual House Tour on Friday, July 17, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

It will include nine charming homes, both historic and new, two of Ocean Grove’s famous tent homes, two bed and breakfast inns, a visit to the society’s museum, the Great Auditorium, Thornley Chapel, the Tabernacle and the Centennial Cottage.

Several of the sites have received the Beersheba Award for Historic Preservation.

The tour begins at 10:30 a.m. at the museum on Auditorium Square and ends at 4:30 p.m. Transportation to the tour stops will be available. The tour will be held rain or shine.

Tickets for the House Tour will be available at the museum, which is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the tour. Tickets will also be available by mail until July 11. Send a check or money order along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to HSOG, P.O. Through July 15, tickets will be available at Gingerbreads and Smugglers Cove, both on Main Avenue. On the day of the tour, tickets will be available at the museum only, 50 Pitman Ave., from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The society recommends that tickets be purchased early

because tickets are limited and have sold out in past years. Children under 12 are not admitted.
