Henry “Chief” Hetman

Mr. Hetman, 88, of South River, died July 31, 2014, at home. Born in South River, he remained a lifelong resident. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Hetman worked for the Ford Motor Co., Edison, for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, in 2004. Surviving are six children, Rose M. Gurchensky, and her husband, John, of Flemington, Linda Franklin of Helmetta, Judith Schaad, and her husband, Stuart, of Fort Myers, Fla., Patricia Bragar, and her husband, Gary, of Wilmington, Vt., Janet Hetman of South River and Henry A. Hetman of North Brunswick; three brothers, Teofil “Ziggy” Hetman of Colorado, Stanley Hetman of East Brunswick and John Hetman of South River; and five grandchildren, Edward Franklin, Justin Stone, Joseph Cutler, Henry C. Hetman and Janie Rose Hetman. Funeral services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Cremation was private.
