Lincroft Presbyterian Church is searching for the area’s best chili at the Church’s third annual Superbowl Saturday Chili Contest 6-8 p.m. Feb. 4.
“This evening is a great way to bring together family and friends for a fun night out, as well as help us raise funds for church repairs and the youth group’s summer 2012 mission trip to help the needy,” said Lincroft resident and church member Kathy Noah.
Judges will award a $100 first prize, and a blue ribbon second prize. Guests will cast their ballot for the People’s Choice award to the best of the best chili. Contestants must register with the church by Jan. 31 and bring their chili in a covered dish or Crock Pot that can be kept warm for the buffet. Entrants should submit their chili with a recipe.
The cost to attend the chili contest and buffet dinner is $10 per adult, $5 per child, or $30 per family. Price includes chili entries, salad, cornbread, side dishes and dessert, refreshments, a gift auction and prizes for chili contestants. Chili entries are $10 each. Additional quarts of chili will be available for takeout for $5.
Seating is limited. To enter the chili contest, contact the church office at 732-741- 8921. Lincroft Presbyterian Church is located at the corner of Everett Corner and West Front Street.
