Naldo Joseph Iorio

Mr. Iorio, 85, of Hazlet and formerly of Middletown, died March 27, 2012, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He worked as a terminal manager for several transportation companies, last working for Mosaic Trucking in Matawan before retiring in 2002. In his earlier years, Mr. Iorio enjoyed working nights and weekends at Iorio and Sons Tavern, his family’s business, in Jersey City. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Church, New Monmouth, and a member of the Middletown Elks, where he was actively involved with fundraising and activities for special-needs children. Mr. Iorio was preceded in death by his wife, Concetta Iorio, in 2000, and a son, Joseph Iorio, in January 2012. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Thein, and Judi and Phill DeSimone; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Chapel, Middletown, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
