Michael Smith of Matawan, a sport management major and graduate of Matawan Regional High School, received the Dean’s Academic Scholarship from York College of Pennsylvania, York. The award is given to freshmen who graduated in the upper twofifths of their high school class and have a combined SAT math and critical reading score of 1100-1240.
Laura Solt of Middletown, an undeclared major and graduate of Middletown High School North, received the Dean’s Academic Scholarship from York College of Pennsylvania, York. The award is given to freshmen who graduated in the upper two-fifths of their high school class and have a combined SAT math and critical reading score of 1100-1240.
The Monmouth Bar Foundation has award 24 scholarships to Monmouth County residents attending law school. The following local residents were recipients:
Robert Honecker III of Shrewsbury;
Shane Calendar of Tinton Falls, a student at Rutgers School of Law-Newark;
Meghan Chrisner of Red Bank, a student at Seton Hall Law School; and
Morgan Jones of Red Bank, a student at Seton Hall Law School.
John Szczuplak, son of Maureen and Walter Szczuplak of Hazlet, attained dean’s list status for the fall and spring semesters at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Pomona. The 2009 graduate of Raritan High School, Hazlet, is a sophomore with a double major in business finance and economics.
