Youngsters play in a soccer game sponsored by the Aberdeen-Matawan Soccer Club at Strathmore Elementary School in Aberdeen on Sept. 11. The event was held to benefit Operation Shoebox, a nonprofit that sends support, snacks and much-needed personal-care items to troops deployed overseas. The program of games was played in honor of the men and women who lost their lives in the World Trade Center attack of Sept. 11, 2001. ERIC SUCAR staff
