Spring Concert Series benefits food pantries, Haitian relief

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Holmdel will host a Spring Concert Series.

The series opens at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, with a program featuring the N.J. State Youth Orchestra. The Chamber Players and the Preparatory String Orchestra will perform individual and joint selections.

All money and food donations will benefit local food pantries.

A concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, will feature students of Miae Park, the congregation’s minister of music. All monies from a free-will offering will benefit Haitian relief efforts.

The program will include: Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3, K. 216; Saint- Saëns’s Cello Concerto No. 1, Op. 33; Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in C minor (“Pathétique”), Op. 13; and Haydn’s Piano Trio No. 3 in C Major.

On Saturday May 22, at 5 p.m., a local Christian rock band will perform. Proceeds from this concert will be given to local food pantries.
