HILDA DZWILESKIE, 88, of Hazlet died July 13 at home. Born in Mount Carmel, Pa., she lived in Bloomsburg, Pa., prior to moving to Hazlet 16 years ago. She was an assembler for Lily Tulip Corporation, Holmdel, for 10 years. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Dzwileskie in 2001; and her brother, George. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Salotti of Sewaren, Roberta Pisarczyk of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet, and Pat Hawkins of Middletown; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

FLORENCE G. BODZIAK, 82, of Hazlet died July 15 at home. Born in Matawan, she lived there prior to moving to Hazlet 47 years ago. She was a teacher at Matawan High School, retiring after 35 years. Prior to that, She was employed at Fort Monmouth for a short period of time. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Bodziak Sr. She is survived by her son, John F. Bodziak Jr. of Hazlet; and two brothers, Jim Siano of Virginia, and Ben Siano of Matawan. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.

WILLIAM H. POTTER JR., 84, of Middletown died July 15 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Holmdel, he was a lifelong resident of Monmouth County, residing in Holmdel and Middletown. In 1935, he and his father founded W.H. Potter & Son Farm and power equipment sales and service, Middletown, where he worked for 63 years. He was a deacon and elder emeritus at the Middletown Reformed Church. He was a founding member of the Middletown Rotary Club, as well as a member of the Farmers and Gardeners Association of New Jersey, and a former trustee and president of the board at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marguerite Greenwood Potter of Middletown; two sons and daughters-in-law, William H. and Marlys Potter III, and Robert S. and Kathleen Potter, all of Middletown; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was offered at Middletown Reformed Church. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

WILLIAM T. BIRK JR., 20, of Middletown died July 16 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Bayonne, he lived in Middletown since 1984. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. A graduate of Middletown High School North, he was a student at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Mary and Charles Birk. He is survived by his parents, William T. and Concetta Marino Birk Sr. of Middletown; his sister and brother, Barbara and Justin Birk of Middletown; and his maternal grandparents, Barbara and Joseph Drew of Middletown. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth.

C. MARGARET DEMPSEY, 83, of Matawan died July 17 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Washington, D.C., she lived in Matawan the past 42 years. She was a dining services dietitian at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, for 16 years, retiring in 1984. She served with the U.S. Army during World War II. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was a member of St. Benedict’s Bridge League, the American Dietetic Association, and the Matawan Women’s Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick A. Dempsey in 1972; two brothers, Gerard Bier and Charles Bier; and a sister, Mary Agnes Kerley. She is survived by six daughters and four sons-in-law, Cathy and Kevin Frayler of Meriden, Conn., Mary and Don Gordon of the Belford section of Middletown, Sister Beth Dempsey, RSM, of Lawrenceville, Anne and Don Solecki of Matawan, Clare Dempsey of Matawan, and Pat and Jim Widdoss of Somerset; one son and daughter-in-law, Fred and JoAnn Dempsey of New Egypt; two brothers, Richard Bier of Vienna, Va., and Joseph Bier of Wilmington, N.C.; her sister, Angela Mulranen of Norwood, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
