Bayonet Farm festival puts out call for artists

HOLMDEL — The Bayonet Farm Arts and Music Festival is recruiting artists to create and display their art during the festival on the Bayonet Farms estate in Holmdel.

The festival will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 22 at the farm, located at 41 Middletown Road.

Artists may paint on the farm grounds, sell their artwork and participate in a juried art show. Cash prizes will be awarded

The juried art show — featuring original watercolors, oils, photography and sculpture, many available for purchase — will be held in the Red Barn Gallery. All afternoon, en plein air artists will be at their easels capturing Bayonet’s pastoral ambiance and lovely structures. At day’s end, prominent art experts will award prizes to Red Barn Gallery and en plein air selections

In addition to enjoying visual arts, participants in the Bayonet Farm Arts and Music Festival can enjoy sounds of the Colts Neck Swing Band, the Swampgrass Jug Band, Los Mas Valientes and Celadon Youth Group. Other attractions will include the Doodle Dude and the Holmdel Theatre Co. New this year will be the HUCC Finn Group and a Holmdel student group, Chime.
