January is NationalMentoringMonth, a time when nonprofit and governmental agencies across the country redouble efforts to connect young people with the mentors so urgently needed.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County (BBBSMC), Eatontown, is extending an open invitation to Monmouth County residents to be a part of this national priority by becoming a Big Brother or Sister. Corporations are also welcome to sponsor mentoring programs.
According to BBBSMC director of recruitment, Sue Ann Walker, “There are so many young people right here in our community who need and want a positive adult role model who can give them encouragement and support. We want to help these children but we need mentors, volunteers, to help us succeed.”
