I would like to thank the Keyport Borough mayor, council, employees and police department for the park bench dedication to the memory of my mother, Lucille Royster. My mother was an employee of the Keyport Police Department for many years up until the day she suddenly left our lives Oct. 31, 2002.
While working there, she developed lasting friendships and spoke highly of everyone. Not only did she develop friendships, but our family did as well. To this day, everyone greets us with a friendly hello and still shows concern for our loss. It brings warmth to my heart knowing she worked with a wonderful group of people that loved and respected her.
The dedication ceremony was extra special because of the beautiful words spoken about my mother by Mayor John Merla and Chief Ted Gajewski, and the planning by Councilman Robert Hyer. Words cannot fully express how appreciative I am of how you honored her last week. This is just one of many things that makes me proud to live in Keyport.
