The Hazlet Wrecking Crew U14 MOSA boys soccer team improved to 6-1-2 with a 1-1 tie against the Alliance Hornets. It was a frustrating afternoon for the Crew as they missed several scoring opportunities. Sean Wentz did score for the Crew just before the half on a great individual effort. The Crew’s defense of Tyler Prata, Cliff Gabiel, sweeper Kyle Sullivan, fullbacks Kevin and Brian Hedges, stopper Gregg Fosket and goalie David Gonzalez played a superior game, hustling on a hot afternoon to shut down the Hornet offense, allowing only a late goal. Dan Fortier, Kurt Granai, Steve Grobelny, Alex Stratis, Willie Wallbank and Thomas Mauch all played an aggressive game at forward, challenging the Hornet defense.

Golf packages and dinner tickets are still available for the May 27 Trinity Episcopal Church Golf Outing to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation at the Colts Neck Golf Club. Play will get under way with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. following a barbecue lunch at noon. Prizes will be up for auction and raffle during the 6 p.m. casual dress cocktail and dinner reception in the Pegasus Grille restaurant. For more information, contact Judy Ramsey at (908) 216-2333.
