Middletown artist’s work exhibited at gallery

Mitchell Sanborn Gallery, 46 W. Front St., Keyport, will exhibit paintings by Virginia Carlyle, Middletown, Aug. 4-19. A reception will be Aug. 4 from 5-7 p.m.

Carlyle’s paintings concentrate on female images of stiletto hells, legs, torsos and lips. Her works have appeared in several group shows statewide and in Ohio and New York City. She is a former art teacher for Middletown Township Public Schools.

for ‘Mad Science’ camp

Hazlet Recreation has announced openings are still available for its “Mad Science” camp for children that have completed grades one through five. “Survival – Predators & Prey” will be offered Aug. 13-17 from 9 a.m. to noon at James J. Cullen Center, 1776 Union Ave., Hazlet.

Cost is $109. children will learn how animals adapt to life on earth, find and identify small critters, and build a birdhouse and a bug house. Registration is due by Aug. 10, and a $15 fee will be applied after that date.

Middletown reunion for pre-1958 grads Sept. 28

Middletown Township High School will hold its annual alumni reunion Sept. 28 at 11:30 a.m. at Gibbs Hall, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. The reunion is for high school classes and classes from the Leonardo section of Middletown up to and including 1958.
