Now celebrating 37 years, the Philadelphia Dance Company (Philadanco) is a significant player in the dance world. Reaching over 100,000 people a year through live performance and an estimated 100 million on television, its artistic direction has a reputation for producing a repertory with passion, power, skill and diversity. The Bluegrass & Oldtime Music Association of New Jersey will hold its November stage show and jam session Sunday 1-5 p.m. at Embury Methodist Church Hall on Church Street in Little Silver. The Three Irish Tenors The Three Irish Tenors Artwork by students at Monmouth County Arts High School will be on display at the Sea Bright Public Library, 1097 Ocean Ave., through November. Now in its fifth year, the program features advanced arts classes in creative writing, dance, music, voice, acting and visual arts to public and private school students. Work by 14 students was selected for the exhibit, including students at Keyport, Ocean Township, Middleton South, Monmouth Regional, and Holmdel high schools.

Atlantic Artisans gallery in Atlantic Highlands has added another dimension – art supplies. Begun as a gallery showcasing local artisans five years ago, the gallery exhibits art by local and American artisans and offers custom framing. Long Branch native Michael Attardi has been honored by the Florence (Italy) Arts Council. Attardi not only won the animation category but took home the top prize for Best of Festival for his animated short, “Once Upon a Christmas Village.” It is the first time an animated film has won the accolade. Attardi can now claim the title “Internationally Acclaimed” and has garnered a record-breaking 57 film festival awards for his film. The Festival of Creativity, sponsored by Digifest.net in Florence, was the site of an elite arts presentation to filmmakers from across the world.

The JCC has added another performance to its production of “The Secret Garden.” The performance on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 8 p.m. was added after opening night was postponed because the play’s lead actress fell and broke her leg. Remaining performances are: Saturday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. The play will be presented in the Performing Arts Center at the Ruth Hyman Jewish Community Center, located at 100 Grant Ave., Deal Park.
