Seven Monmouth County residents came up winners in the 2015 statewide senior citizen art contest coordinated by Mercer County’s Division of Cultural Heritage and Office on Aging.
Louis Rivera of Neptune, Yachi Pan of Freehold, Guido Guazzoni of Ocean Township, Carolyn Bartlett of Freehold, Robert Mitchell of Keyport, Stuart Hoberman of Morganville and Joan Watson of Wall Township were recognized among the more than 200 entries in the professional and nonprofessional categories, according to a press release from Monmouth County.
“Every year, our seniors show great enthusiasm through their artwork,” said Freeholder John P. Curley. “It is great to see these talented artists recognized at the state level for their exceptional work. These talented members of our community bring a lifetime worth of experience to life through their artwork. We are proud of all our artists.”
Ten winners from Monmouth County’s Senior Citizen Juried Art Contest took part in the state competition. All were first place winners in Monmouth County’s Senior Art Contest and Exhibition held in August. Photographs of all of the winning artwork are posted at www.VisitMonmouth.com
