CentraState Healthcare System will offer a sound healing class for survivors and caregivers from 6-7 p.m. July 20 in the Thomas J. Blanchet Cardiac Diagnosis Center in the Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W. Main St., Freehold Township. Sound healing is the practice of using sound stimulation and vibration patterns to restore balance to the nervous system and increase overall health and wellness. The program cost is $12. The Manalapan Arts Council will present a summer concert and fireworks display at 7 p.m. July 17 at the great lawn at the Manalapan Recreation Center, 120 Route 522, Manalapan. “The Great Lady Swings Sinatra” will perform a Frank Sinatra tribute concert. Fireworks will begin after the concert.
The Manalapan Senior Center will sponsor a bus trip to La Neves in Haledon on Aug. 12 for a Motown tribute with Joe Zisa and Friends. The Monmouth County Audubon Society will host a bird walk to look for nesters and shorebirds on Sandy Hook at 6 p.m. July 16. Participants will meet in the parking lot of the old Sandy Hook Visitor’s Center. This free event will be led by members of the Monmouth County Audubon Society who are familiar with Sandy Hook and its birds. Both members and nonmembers of the Monmouth County Audubon Society are welcome. Participants should bring binoculars and field guides and should dress appropriately for the weather, including clothing suitable for rain if the forecast is questionable.
