Suspect sought after incident on Pension Rd.

MANALAPAN — An incident that occurred on Pension Road led to what is being described as an act of road rage.

Police said that at 8:14 p.m. Nov. 4, a 20- year-old white male resident of Manalapan reported that he was assaulted after a road rage incident. The man told police he was operating a vehicle on Pension Road when he became involved in an altercation with an occupant of a white Honda Civic.

Both vehicles eventually came to a stop, and the passenger in the Honda exited the vehicle and proceeded to the victim’s driver side door. The victim’s window was broken and he was struck twice in the face, causing minor injuries.

The white male suspect was described as being about 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes and a scruff beard. The suspect was wearing a black North Face jacket. The vehicle left the area and appeared to be driven by an unknown female. The incident is under investigation by Patrolman Anthony Cascella.

In other incidents reported by police:

 On Nov. 7 at 8:51 p.m., Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis responded to Best Buy, Route 9, for a report of an individual who was being held by store security personnel.

The store’s loss prevention officer told DeFilippis he saw a male subject conceal an X-box controller in his jacket. The item is valued at $129.99. The suspect was identified as Eric Fenske, 21, of Manalapan. Fenske was transported to police headquarters and charged with shoplifting. The case is pending court.

 On Nov. 7, Joseph D. Demauex, 28, of Riverdale, was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief in connection with a July 28 burglary at Spirits Unlimited.

On July 28 at 12:08 a.m., patrol officers responded to Spirits Unlimited, Route 9. They discovered the entrance doors smashed out and the cash register draw missing. The case was investigated by Detective Charles Alaimo.

Demauex was served with his complaints at the Passaic County Jail, where he is currently being held on unrelated charges.
