Girl Scouts appreciate generosity of many donors in the community

Marlboro Girl Scouts and Cadette Troop 1582 would like to thank members of the community, the Marlboro Public Library, and the owners of Bagel Talk in Marlboro for their overwhelming support of the Girl Scouts’ annual collection of school supplies to benefit children serviced by Open Door in Freehold. As a result of the generous donations, the Girl Scouts received enough supplies to fill 76 backpacks with necessary school items. Remaining supplies that could not fit into the backpacks were also delivered to Open Door.

Girls ranging in age from Daisy level to Ambassador level all helped during the town’s annual Backpack Stuffing Party held at the Marlboro Public Library on Aug. 16. Close to 40 girls attended the event that has become an important tradition for Marlboro Girl Scouts.
