The Spring Lake Heights branch office of Central Jersey Bank, N.A., is organizing the collection and delivery of nonperishable items for the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties throughout November. Nonperishable donations to the food bank may be dropped off in labeled containers at any of the 13 Central Jersey Bank locations until Nov. 30.

Pump It Up of Freehold is taking action to help reverse childhood obesity in America with the new Jump It Up! Challenge, part of a nationwide program that promotes fitness and rewards children for 60 minutes of physical activity on the playground’s giant, colorful inflatables. The challenge coincides with Pump It Up’s membership in the Coalition for Healthy Kids, a national awareness campaign spearheaded by the Advertising Council that addresses childhood obesity in America.

Starting this week, children will be able to join the Jump It Up! Challenge. Guests will receive a wallet-sized card that will be hole-punched each time they visit Pump It Up and jump for at least an hour, and after six visits, children will receive a free entry to a Pop-In Playtime session. Dr. Russell Brokstein, D.C., as a member of the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors, is sponsoring “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” a statewide nonperishable food, coat, hat, gloves and scarf drive being sponsored by the ANJC. To help New Jersey battle the cold, anyone can drop off food items, coats, hats, gloves and scarves at Brokstein’s office and he will deliver them to Jersey Cares, Salvation Army, Goodwill and other charitable organizations throughout New Jersey. Brokstein’s office will be accepting donations of food and winter apparel such as coats, hats, gloves and scarves in good condition until Dec. 31. A Breakfast Bonanza networking event will be presented by the Howell Chamber of Commerce from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Dec. 10 at the Chapter House, 1454 Route 9 south, Howell. Dr. Eric M. Silverberg is participating in the “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” statewide program to collect nonperishable food, coats, hats, gloves and scarves being sponsored by the Association of the New Jersey Chiropractors. People can drop off the above-mentioned items at Silverberg’s chiropractic office at 219 Taylors Mills Road, Manalapan. Stuart A. Hoberman, shareholder and director of the law firm Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A., served as a co-special editor of the October 2010 edition of the “New Jersey Lawyer Magazine,” published by the New Jersey State Bar Association, which focused on banking and financial transactions.

Hoberman also co-authored an article which appeared in the issue, “Looking Into the Crystal Ball: The Business Banking Outlook for New Jersey.”

Hoberman, chair of the banking and financial services team at Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A., has concentrated his practice in all areas of banking and finance for more than 30 years.

Amboy Bank will host its annual food drive during November. All month, all 26 offices of Amboy Bank will be collecting food and household items for food banks in their branch areas. Every Amboy Bank office manager has selected a food bank to collect for in their community. In many cases Amboy Bank has a strong relationship with the organizations, including Elijah’s Promise in New Brunswick, the Old Bridge Food Bank and the Samaritan Center in Manalapan.
