A Ladies Night Out for several local businesses will be held Oct. 19 from 7-9 p.m. at Studio 455, at 455 Route 9 south, Manalapan, in The Mart shopping center. Chelsea at Manalapan donated $1,800 to the Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad following the annual Chelsea Senior Living golf outing. The Chelsea golf outing, held each year at Fiddler’s Elbow Golf Club in Bedminster, benefits volunteer emergency responders in all of the New Jersey communities in which Chelsea has residences.
James Marhold, president/CEO of Declarations Inc., has been elected to the board of directors of the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, a national nonprofit association advancing an aggressive mental health and addictions healthcare reform agenda. Marhold joins a board committed to the recovery and full social inclusion of persons with mental illnesses and addiction disorders and to using the current healthcare reform debate to further those goals. Dr. A.K. Bhattacharya, of Plastic Surgery Plus and Jon’Ric MediSpa, was appointed chief medical spokesperson for the American Cancer Society, Jersey Shore Region on Sept. 1. As ACS medical adviser, Bhattacharya will serve as the leader in the community on the medical issues of cancer, representing the American Cancer Society and advancing ACS medical positions in the community. Bhattacharya will serve as medical adviser for the Jersey Shore American Cancer Society from 2009 to 2011.
Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Monmouth County, Marlboro, announced the appointment of Yoti Yarhi as the head of school. Yarhi was the acting head of school since March. Her appointment became effective in August. Yarhi has been a Judaic studies teacher at the school for eight years and was the coordinator of Judaic studies for grades nursery through eight.
