The Foundation for The Village for Healthcare and Rehabilitation of Workmen’s Circle has named David I. Portman, of Holmdel as its chairman, announced Martin Krupnick, chairman of the board of The Village.

Krupnick said Portman will work closely with Sheena Stein, chairwoman of The Village’s capital campaign, to coordinate an effort to raise millions of dollars over the next few months.

The Village is a strictly kosher facility to be constructed on Gibson Place in Freehold Township over the next two years. The wooded, 14-acre site will become home to 152 residents in private suites for long-term care with sub-acute rehabilitation.

“I am passionate about this Village because it is so needed for the many elderly Jewish people in central New Jersey who want to stay close to their family and friends,” Portman said. “The Village will give residents the opportunity to age gracefully and with dignity, as they will live in non-institutional, small households with the full support of caring professionals.”

Portman serves as president of Triad Development in Eatontown, a real estate development company that has numerous commercial and rental properties in New Jersey.
