Ryan Ragan, the COO of the Central Jersey Blood Center, presented Greater Media radio stations WRAT, 95.9 FM, and WJRZ, 100.1 FM, with the Central Jersey Blood Center’s “Outstanding Service Award” on March 20 at the New Jersey Nets basketball game at the Izod Center, East Rutherford.
Doug Sjonvall, marketing director of WRAT and WJRZ, accepted the award on behalf of Greater Media Inc., New Jersey, from Ragan.
Ragan said, “Central Jersey Blood Center would like to thank (the radio stations) for their continued involvement and support, as well as their commitment to serving the community.
“This includes, but is not limited to, helping to educate and recruit young donors, and donating their time and services to the organization. We’ve been partners with them for three years now, publicizing programs to encourage donations as well as educate kids on the importance and safety of blood donation.”
WRAT and WJRZ air Blood Challenge drives each year for juniors and seniors in Monmouth and Ocean County high schools to increase blood supplies as well as to educate students, teachers and parents of elementary school children about the safety and importance of donating blood.
