Rita’s Water Ice, which has local franchises in Freehold, at 47 W. Main St., and in Manalapan at 342 Route 9 north, will hold its annual spring giveaway event March 20 from noon to 9 p.m. Anyone who stops by will receive a free, regular-size 10-ounce Italian ice. Rita’s has more than 340 locations throughout the East Coast.

Erica Fruscione of Marlboro was a special guest speaker at Herbalife’s annual university event held recently in Anaheim, Calif. Herbalife is a network marketing company that sells weight-management, nutritional supplement and personal care products. The company holds the annual event for both its English-speaking and Spanish-speaking distributors. Fruscione spoke at the direct sellers’ leadership development weekend convention, which featured talks on cutting-edge ideas on communicating product benefits, ongoing promotions and sales techniques.

Andy Santoro of Manalapan has been promoted to senior vice president of Millennium Radio Group. The announce-ment was made by Millennium Radio New Jersey. Santoro is a 29-year veteran of New Jersey radio. He will also continue in his leadership role as cluster manager/general manager overseeing New Jersey 101.5.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital announced that Tiger Schul-mann’s Karate in Marlboro will be conducting a martial arts fundraiser to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on April 8. The money raised at the event will help ensure that children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases will have a better chance to live. Arlene S. Amtzis of Freehold has opened Major League Bagel in the Colonial Plaza, 347 W. Main St. (Route 537), Freehold Township. The business is a bakery and a deli, for retail and corporate accounts, and also features baseball collectibles for sale. All bagels are baked on the premises by bakers with more than 30 years of experience. Major League Bagel is open daily from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Business After Hours, sponsored by the Western Monmouth Chamber of Commerce, will be hosted by Young Chefs Academy, 712 Ginesi Drive, Marlboro, a cooking school for children.
