This is in response to the racist and paranoid letter to the editor from Robert Brown (“Deporting Undocumented People Will Help Keep U.S. Safe,” News Transcript, May 22).
Mr. Brown blames undocumented people for Americans not being able to live safely in their towns, walk their streets, attend church, send their children to school, shop, or go to public events without fear of injury or death. Most undocumented residents are here to work and build a better life for themselves and their families just as our forefathers did.
To equate them with the problems that Mr. Brown has listed smacks of pure racism and ethnic hatred and has no place in this country.
