Brooklyn comes to Aberdeen on May 20

ABERDEEN — Temple Beth Ahm is inviting everyone who has ties to the borough of Brooklyn to turn back the hands of time and take a walk down memory lane.

If you remember having an egg cream made with Fox’s U-Bet chocolate syrup, milk and seltzer delivered by the seltzer man, or savoring a Charlotte Russe, “Oh, Dem Brooklyn Days!” will offer plenty of opportunity to reminisce about the good old days when life was uncomplicated while you were growing up in Brooklyn.

“Oh, Dem Brooklyn Days!” will take place on May 20 beginning at 2 p.m. at Temple Beth Ahm, 550 Lloyd Road, Aberdeen. Attendees will listen or sing along with the doo-wop music of the Expressions and test their memory with stories, pictures and a trivia quiz led by Ron Schweiger, the official Brooklyn Borough historian, while munching on a hot potato knish and washing it down with a real egg cream.

Relive the old days while enjoying a bialy or bagel and a schmear, and much more.

This event is open to everyone who has Brooklyn in their blood. For more information and to purchase tickets, call 732-583-9499 or send an email to [email protected].
