FREEHOLD — The Freehold Community Job Fairs that were held in April and October 2009 were so successful that another job fair has been scheduled for 1-5 p.m. April 7 at the Freehold Intermediate School, Park Avenue (Route 33), Freehold Borough.

The event will be sponsored by the Freehold Borough Neighborhood Pride Committee (NPC) and will feature employers who are searching for employees to place in available jobs. Marc Le Vine, who will chair the event, said he is looking forward to another successful job fair this spring.

“Since the unemployment and the economy situation is really unchanged, we are looking for even more employers to match up with those who are looking for a job,” Le Vine said. “We have a lot of anxious employers anticipating this event and some have already given us verbal registration, including Six Flags Great Adventure, AXA Advisors and the Visiting Nurse Association.”

Last year’s job fairs brought more than 300 job seekers to the Freehold Intermediate School. Visitors left the event with information and personal contacts which, hopefully, led them to employment.

Le Vine reminded prospective employees to bring résumés with them to the job fair, to dress professionally and to present themselves with an optimistic attitude. He said the organizers of the event have started to spread the word about the April 7 job fair.

Participating companies are expected to represent a variety of occupations and admission to the job fair will be free to anyone who is seeking employment. Representatives of the armed forces who attended

the 2009 job fairs have been

invited to return this year.

Businesses will pay $75 for space at the job fair.

Le Vine said a portion of the proceeds from the job fair, after expenses, will go the Freehold Borough K-8 School District to apply toward career-oriented resources and materials. He said the donation to the school district is to show the committee’s appreciation for all of the help and support the school district has afforded it.
