Watershed-friendly management guide available

A guide is available to help residents of Monmouth, Middlesex and Ocean counties improve and maintain water quality, protect streams and waterways, enhance wildlife habitats and improve the environment.

The Watershed Friendly Property Management Guide includes information on water conservation; water-saving tips for home, lawn and garden; avoiding mosquitoes and ticks; the benefits of native plants; composting; wildlife habitats; stream maintenance; and information on local agencies involved in watershed management.

The guide was written using grant money from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, with matching funds from Freehold Soil Conservation District and the Monmouth County Water Resources Association.
