Gus’s Diner, Route 33, Manalapan, will celebrate its grand reopening at 8 a.m. June 8 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Owners Bessie and Chris Arvanitis were remodeling and expanding the diner earlier this year when a fire broke out, damaging the restaurant. Since that time the couple, who have owned the diner for six years, have been working to remediate the damage and complete the expansion. The owners thanked Dave Pape of Old Forge Builders for his efforts to get the work completed. The community is invited to the ribbon cutting on June 8 at the new, larger Gus’s Diner.
Twist-N-Shout Party Club, 335 Route 9, Manalapan, will host a benefit dinner party concert featuring EagleMania, an Eagles tribute band, on June 15. The show will include a light buffet dinner and is BYOB. Tickets are $30 online and $35 at the door. Guests are asked to bring nonperishable foods, canned goods, paper goods, toiletries and personal care items, which along with a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Feed All God’s Children of Freehold and other local charities. The Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Circle of Excellence Awards dinner on June 6 at the Battleground Country Club, Manalapan. Award recipients include Dr. Gail Reilly from Fort Monmouth, Freeholder Director Thomas A. A Cut For a Cause event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. June 23 at The Salon at Manalapan by Lawrence Gerard, 167 Route 33, Manalapan. The salon will team up with Justin’s Barbershop to raise money for iCan Bike, a summer program that helps disabled individuals learn to ride a standard twowheel bike. The camp, which is held at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, is made possible only through donations and volunteers. First Step Education Preschool, 251 Route 33, Manalapan, will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on June 8. The event will begin at 9 a.m. with an introductory speech from Manalapan Mayor Susan Cohen. Tours of the facility and an opportunity to meet the staff and enjoy food and refreshments will follow. The open house will run to 1 p.m. First Step Education Preschool is owned and operated by Ruth B. Garcis. The school offers a small group learning environment and a creative curriculum to promote self-esteem and increased cognitive development, with the goal of developing lifelong learners.

Erinn Valencich, a Los Angeles-based interior designer, style expert and Quick- Step designer partner, will present the seminar. Valencich will guide consumers on how to stay within a budget and still create beautiful living spaces quickly, easily and affordably.

During the seminar, Valencich will work one-on-one with attendees to give them free, personalized design advice.
