The Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources will host its annual legal seminar sponsored and presented by attorneys in the Jackson Lewis law firm from 8:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 10 at Jumping Brook Country Club, Neptune.

The New School of Monmouth County will host an open house from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 29. Nestled in the heart of Holmdel, the New School of Monmouth County has successfully educated scores of children since 1969. At the New School of Monmouth County, small, multi-aged classrooms provide an intimate setting where students receive individualized attention from teachers, learn from each other, are responsible for each other, and gain a new perspective on what it means to belong to a group larger than just one’s peers. The school uses project-based learning which takes into consideration the input of students, allowing for a deeper understanding of the subjects being taught. IHOP restaurants nationwide will celebrate Halloween a little early this year, offering children age 12 and under a free Scary Face Pancake as part of its “No Tricks — Just Treats” program designed to provide children with a safe and fun Halloween event. The “design-your-own” Scary Face Pancake includes an oversized signature buttermilk pancake with a whipped topping mouth and strawberry nose, served with two mini Oreo cookies and candy corn on the side to allow children to create their own Halloween hotcake. The Hire a Veteran Job Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 9 in recognition of Veterans Day. Businesses or organizations seeking qualified men and women returning to the work force after serving in the military may rent exhibit tables at the event. Veterans will have an opportunity to seek employment directly from employers, attend employment-related workshops, and find out about personal services available to them. The Hire a Veteran Job Fair will be held at the Merri-Makers catering facility at the PNC Bank Reception Center, Exit 116 off the Garden State Parkway, Holmdel. Exhibit tables are available for $200 each to those employers seeking well-qualified men and women in the military who have returned home. The $200 fee will be donated to the G.I.
