Andrea Kron, a graduate of The Ailey School, New York City, recently conducted theater, dance and audition technique workshops at the Monmouth Performing Arts Centre in Howell. Students worked on choreography from “A Funny Thing Happened on theWay to the Forum” and “Footloose,” and concluded with learning the many aspects of audition technique.

MPAC will be hosting an open house on National Dance Day, July 30, from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration will be accepted at the school every Tuesday and Thursday in August 5-7 p.m.

Classes will start on Sept. 12 and include ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip-hop, contemporary, modern, Broadway, combo and adult classes, ballroom, musical theater, and vocal for preschool, teens and adults. New classes include hip-hop for 3- and 4-yearolds, boys hip-hop and Zumba.

There will also be open call auditions on Sept. 10 for the annual presentation of “The Nutcracker” set to Tchaikovsky’s score. MPAC is directed by Nicole M. Tiedemann and co-directed by Connie Anne Paris. Details: 732-364-5200.

Louis Paolillo of Freehold was recently hired as a financial adviser at First Financial Federal Credit Union’s Investment and Retirement Center, Neptune.

Paolillo brings more than 25 years of banking and finance experience to First Financial Federal Credit Union. Prior to his employment at First Financial, he was vice president at Bear Stearns, vice president of network operations at Morgan Stanley and most recently, a financial adviser at Wells Fargo. Paolillo is an accredited chartered retirement planning counselor and also holds his Series 7, Series 66 and Series 63 accreditations.

As a financial adviser, Paolillo will be responsible for designing investment strategies based on individuals’ goals and risk tolerances, as well as developing retirement plans.

Paolillo received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and a minor in economics from Lycoming College. In his spare time he coaches youth basketball, plays golf, and volunteers as the vice president of the Red Bank Catholic High School Athletic Booster Club. Paolillo lives in Freehold with his wife and two children.

The Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau (JSCVB) has launched this summer’s Icon Contest. The JSCVB is a destination marketing organization established to promote Monmouth and Ocean counties. The Icon Contest was developed to attract visitors to various locations in these counties. The icon chosen for the contest is a lifeguard stand. Participating companies display a lifeguard stand or lifeguard icon at their business. Visitors/contestants find the lifeguard icon and locate the business’s unique keyword on the icon sign. The visitors then text the keyword into 30241 and they are automatically entered into the contest. The contestant who visits the most locations wins an all-inclusive seven-day, six-night Jersey Shore vacation. Start looking for the lifeguard icons and enter.

Dr. Martin Krupnick, president and chief executive officer of IEP Youth Services in Freehold, was elected chairman of the board of trustees of the New Hope Foundation at its annual meeting on June 21. Krupnick succeeds the Rev. Mark VanSant, pastor of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Little Silver. Re-elected as vice chairman and treasurer, respectively, were Arthur Ryan, a management consultant from Manasquan, and Richard Violante, the controller at Hamilton Farms Golf Club. John F. Kouten, CEO of JFK Communications, a Princeton-based public relations firm, was newly elected as secretary of the board.

The NHF board also has elected John F. Tesauro Jr. as a trustee on the foundation’s board. Tesauro is a New Jersey-based practicing attorney and full-time arbitrator empaneled with the New Jersey State Board of Mediation and the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission. New Hope Foundation is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to serving those most in need of treatment for alcoholism, drug addiction and compulsive gambling.
