The Central Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners will hold a dinner meeting and networking event on Feb. 16 from 6-9 p.m. at the Bella Vista Country Club, Marlboro. Scott Aaronson, director of governmental affairs for the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), was elected to the New Jersey State Society board of directors. NJSS is a nonprofit, nonpartisan tax-exempt organization founded in 1941 for Washington, D.C., area individuals and organizations with businesses, social or political ties to New Jersey.
Aaronson, who was born in Manalapan, joined EEI in 2009. EEI is the association of United States shareholder-owned electric companies representing 70 percent of the United States’ electric power industry.
Previously, Aaronson was a senior adviser to Rep. Tom Lantos, chairman of House foreign affairs; Rep. Jackie Speier; and Sen. Bill Nelson. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado and has a master’s degree from George Washington University.
TLC Family Chiropractic, 1200 Route 9 south, Howell, will host a Patient Appreciation Day on Feb. 12. Patients treated that day are encouraged to contribute their fees to the Oklahaven Children’s Chiropractic Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. Each year Oklahaven sponsors a fundraising event in February called “Have-A-Heart.” It provides an opportunity for chiropractors to educate their patients about the benefits of chiropractic while at the same time supporting an internationally recognized nonprofit organization. Jack Purvis of Howell was recognized as the first vice president of the New Jersey chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA-NJ) at the organization’s annual awards gala held recently at Carl Icahn Laboratory at Princeton University. Purvis was among nineAIA-NJ officers installed at the event, which also celebrated the top
achievements among architects and architectural companies throughout the state with service and design awards. Purvis is a licensed architect for the state of New Jersey with more than 25 years experience. His firm, Jack A. Purvis Architect, Allenwood, was established in 1986 and caters to a wide variety of projects including new construction, renovation, and additions to commercial, residential, private and public work.
