CentraState Healthcare System will hold a Diabetes, Weight Loss and Fitness Fair, Nov. 13 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at CentraState Medical Center’s Zwerling Auditorium. The fair is geared to adults and families trying to lose weight and prevent or manage diabetes.
Participants can meet and talk with CentraState’s board-certified bariatric (weight loss) surgeons, endocrinologists, family practice physicians, plastic surgeons and related hospital staff. A variety of weight loss, fitness and diabetes service and product vendors will provide information and free gifts.
The fair staff will conduct fun, interactive demonstrations. Free screenings for adults will include body fat and body mass index (BMI). There will be prizes, give-aways, refreshments and music provided by The Breeze radio station and Greater Media Newspapers.
A 30-minute seminar on surgical options for obesity will be presented by physicians with Endo-Surgical Associates of Central Jersey at 6 and 8 p.m. Kenneth Ordene, M.D., medical director of CentraState’s Novo Nordisk Diabetes Center, will hold a 30-minute diabetes management seminar at 7 p.m. Registration for the fair and the lectures is required by calling 866-CENTRA7.
3-D artist Charles Fazzino is scheduled to appear at Lavon Art Gallery to introduce his new collection, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. A day with many surprises is planned for the entire family as Fazzino will be available from 2-6 p.m. to meet art enthusiasts. Fazzino is known for his use of vibrant color, exceptional detail and storytelling ability in his art. His whimsical style appeals to all ages. He is often called the “Master of 3-D Pop Art.”

Joffe Family Chiropractic of Manalapan will hold its fourth annual Thanksgiving holiday food drive to benefit the Open Door Food Pantry, Freehold. Open Door serves approximately 350 families each month at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Freehold. Lunches are served Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Silverberg Family Chiropractic will host a Thanksgiving holiday food drive for needy families. In exchange for a $10 donation or two canned food items, a complimentary blood pressure check and posture analysis will be conducted. Donations accepted through Nov. 23.
