John T. Gribbin, president and CEO of CentraState Healthcare System, has received the CEO IT Achievement Award from Modern Healthcare Magazine and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
The award recognizes healthcare CEOs who have demonstrated leadership and commitment in using IT to advance their organizations’ strategic goals. CEOs must also achieve measurable results through leadership and commitment to IT in their organization, and share their health care organization’s IT experiences to benefit peers and other members of the industry.
Prior to joining CentraState in 2000, Gribbin was a founding member and served as executive vice president of Meridian Health System. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974 and from Rider University with a Master of Business Administration in finance in 1979. He lives with his family in Clarksburg section of Millstone.
Monmouth County attorney Angela White Dalton, of Howell, has become secretary of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Dalton is on track to become president in 2016. Dalton received her B.A. summa cum laude from Monmouth University, West Long Branch, where she was an H.R. Young Scholar and received the Hon. Elvin R. Simmill Scholarship. She received her law degree from Rutgers University School of Law, Camden, with honors, where she was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Legal Research and Writing. As a partner with Zager Fuchs P.C., Dalton handles probate, guardianship and chancery litigation as well as estate planning and administration.
Laura Bligh, of Freehold, a local speech-language pathologist, was one of only 25 North American speech-language pathologists selected to attend the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Intensive Training Institute in Pittsburgh, Pa., a new four-day intensive training institute concerning the diagnosis and treatment of childhood apraxia of speech, a complicated speech disorder. For successful completion, the selected speech-language pathologists must attend all training sessions and case reviews, pass an exam, and successfully complete a case review with an expert mentor. The goal of the training is to have each speech-language pathologist bring increased expertise to the children in their care and to serve as a resource in their communities. The training institute is sponsored by the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of NorthAmerica and the Duquesne University Department of Speech-Language Pathology.
Freehold chiropractor Liam Schübel received the Service to the Profession Award from Sherman College of Chiropractic, Spartanburg, S.C., in appreciation of his extraordinary, unselfish and noteworthy service to the chiropractic profession. Dr. Schübel is a 1995 graduate of Life University School of Chiropractic, Marietta, Ga., and a member of the Sherman College board of trustees. Dr. Schübel, who speaks fluent Spanish, is owner of Centro Quiropractico Schübel, with 16 offices in Peru and two in the Dominican Republic. He also owns Schubel Chiropractic in New Jersey. David Bertone, a physical therapist and president of db Orthopedic Physical Therapy PC in Lincroft, has been nominated by Gov. Chris Christie for an appointment to the New Jersey Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. This board is responsible for the regulation of physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in New Jersey. This appointment requires approval of the Senate Judiciary Committee prior to becoming effective.
