Mr. Rice, 77, of Manalapan, died May 11, 2010, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had resided in Manalapan for the past 33 years. Mr. Rice fought in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the New York Telephone Co. in Brooklyn. He was predeceased by three siblings, Terrence, Isabelle Keane and Sheila Rooney. Surviving are his wife, Rita; five sons, Ralph Jr., Patrick, Kevin, James and Ronald; three daughters, Roseann Casey, Bernadette Silvestri and Rita Bevacqua; a sister, Marie Arnold; and 10 grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Arrangements were by the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 north, Manalapan.
