CentraState Healthcare System is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Monmouth Crossing this month with several free special events. Rhythm to Read, a Marlboro educational organization, announces its new DVD adaptation of its curriculum program currently being taught by Mark Wertman, music director, at Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Monmouth County. This educational program uses music, rhythms and games to teach children ages 2-6 basic reading skills and introduces unique patterns that set up a love for reading. Mark Wertman, creator of the curriculum and the DVD, will be holding classes at the Marlboro Recreation Community Center in the spring. Park Avenue Hair Design, Howell, will hold a Service Day of Beauty on Feb. 15 to donate proceeds for the sake of humanity through the American Red Cross/Jersey Coast Chapter. Burlington Coat Factory in Freehold Township is collecting donations to support the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund. Monetary donations will be accepted at the store, 3684 Route 9 north, and at any of the more than 430 Burlington Coat Factory stores nationwide. Donations to the American Red Cross will support emergency relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake. Assistance provided by the American Red Cross may include sending relief supplies, mobilizing relief workers and providing financial resources. Donations will be collected through Feb. 17.
